Eligibility
- The candidates applying for Chandrasekhar Postdoctoral Fellowships should be from India.
- The applicants for the fellowship are expected to be exceptionally bright candidates.
- Candidates should have an outstanding academic credentials for the award.
- The field of study of the candidate should be in areas related astronomy and astrophysics.
- The successful applicants of the fellowship will receive the funding for a period of two years.
- The fellowship can be extended for one more year.
- The maximum age limit of the candidates should be below 32 years.
Value of the award
- The successful candidates of Chandrasekhar Postdoctoral Fellowships will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 55,000/- for candidates with up to 2 years post-doctoral experience.
- The candidates with an experience of more than 2 years will be receiving Rs.55,000/- to 60,000/-.
- The Chandra Fellows will also be receiving other allowances including travel and housing allowances.
