Frank Knox fellowships are awarded for graduate study or research to Harvard University in the United States. It is awarded to the citizens of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The students who are interested must apply before entering in the United States and starting their Harvard programs.
This scholarship is awarded to 15 new students each year, typically. This scholarship is guaranteed for up to 2 years of education to study at Harvard for any program whose duration is more than a year.
History of FKM fellowship
This fellowship was established at Harvard University in 1945 as a gift from Annie Reid Knox, wife of the late Frank Knox. Frank Knox served in U.S navy and was a regarded businessman and a politician.
This fellowship program promotes the Knox legacy by scholarly exchange between the U.S, Britain and the dominions of British Commonwealth.
Why Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship Program:
This scholarship covers the full academic expenses, health insurance fee and provides a stipend enough to cover one’s living expenses for a course of 10 months.
Knox fellowship holders who are most likely to bring spouses or other family member must secure their way of funding to support them. This fellowship is guaranteed for up to 2 years. After 2 years the committee would decide if it can be renewed on a case to case basis.
Eligibility Criteria Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship
- You must be the citizen of Canada, England, New Zealand or Australia and are residing there at the time of application.
- You have completed or will complete higher degree from a Frank Knox Affiliate University.
- You are not currently living in USA. The application would not be approved if you are.
- Have completed or will complete graduate degree in 2019 or 2020
- You haven’t graduated before 2015

- It is highly based on the recommendations from your Country Universities, Harvard admission decisions and the review by selection committee.
- Your promise towards leadership would make you stand out. Excellence in not only studies but non-academic activities is very important.
How to Apply Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship:
Candidates are required to submit their Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship applications before University Liaison.
Students are also required to submit
- Complete and signed application form of the scholarship.
- Short essay of not more than 1000 words which gives information about your interests, goals and why you are fit for this scholarship.
- 2 letters of recommendations.
- Attested copied of all your transcripts.
- Curriculum vitae.
Scholarships Included:
The Knox Fellowship pays the following:
- Full Harvard tuition fees.
- Mandatory health insurance fees and
- Sufficient stipend to cover the living expenses of a single Fellow for a 10-month academic year
