The Agency for Science, Technology, and Research is offering scholarships to pursue intercalated MBBS-PhD.

Eligibility for Fully funded-National Science Scholarship (MBBS-PhD), 2023:

  • The applicants for National Science Scholarship (MBBS-PhD), 2023 should be citizens of Singapore or other nationals intending to take up Singapore citizenship.
  • The candidates should be interested in pursuing a career as clinician-scientists.
  • The applicants should also have excellent results in GCE ‘A’ Level (minimum 11 units), NUS High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate (IB), or equivalent.
  • The male candidates must serve National Service before commencing their undergraduate studies.
  • The applicants for National Science Scholarship (MBBS-PhD), 2023 should have an offer from any UK medical school with the intercalated MBBS-PhD program.

Selection criteria for a fully funded scholarship for Postgraduate and Ph.D.:

  • The final year medical students or MBBS graduates from the YLLSoM or LKCSoM with a strong interest in clinician scientist career can apply for the Ph.D. support.
  • The applicants with experience and achievements in science-related projects will be given preference.
  • The candidates are required to explain why they suited for a clinician-scientist track.
  • The applications from the students of YLLSoM or LKCSoM pursuing MBBS will be accepted during their final year of MBBS and throughout the year.

Value of Fully funded-National Science Scholarship (MBBS-PhD), 2023:

  • The recipients of National Science Scholarship (MBBS-PhD), 2023 get full tuition fees, monthly allowance, and an annual return airfare.
  • The recipients can get an additional allowance in the Ph.D. phase of scholarship.
