History of John H. Coatsworth Latin American History Fellowships:
John H. Coatsworth was the founding Director of the David Rockefeller Center and the former Monroe Gutman Professor of Latin American Affairs at Harvard University. The John H. Coatsworth Latin American history fellowship for studying in United States was established to honor of John H. Coatsworth. This fellowship is for the doctoral students whose research focuses Latin American history. Students from history department have special preference for this fellowship.
Benefits:
John H. Coatsworth Latin American history fellowship for study at Harvard University, United States will provide the students a stipend for living expenses which can be used while undertaking research either on campus or in the field. This fellowship can be granted for a single semester or a complete year. Also, the summer-only projects are not eligible.
Eligibility Criteria:
Following is the John H. Coatsworth Latin American History Fellowships eligibility criteria for students who wish to apply for this scholarship
- Current doctoral students or PHD candidates at Harvard are eligible to apply if they have completed at least one year of their degree.
- Students from first year are not eligible and thus cannot apply. This fellowship mostly comes in 4th or 5th year of degree.
- Recipients of this fellowship must obtain approval if they wish to apply for or receive other fellowships or grants in the future. The amount can be adjusted if the student has another award for the same time period. The fellowship fund is not renewable or deferrable.
