The Zuckerman Fellows Program for United States Citizens is one of the most prestigious awards for the students who want to study at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Graduate School of Education or Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

History of Award:

The Zuckerman Fellows Program was established by Mort Zuckerman in 2004. This was established for the students who are committed to public service. For students who have or are pursuing their degree in medicine, business or law and want to earn an additional degree from The Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Harvard Kennedy School of Government or the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health so that they can pursue public service. The main aim is to bring together different groups of people to collaborate on ways to solve different issues.

Zuckerman Fellows Program Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility criteria for Zukerman fellowship at Harvard, United States is as follows

  • Those students who have or are pursuing an M.B.A., J.D., or M.D., or D.M.D./D.D.S graduate degree from an accredited United States institution and want to earn an additional degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Harvard Kennedy School, or the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health are eligible to apply. Those student who are working towards a business, law, or medical degree and wish to undertake an additional degree, including students who are applying to joint degree programs at Harvard, are eligible too.
  • Candidates must be U.S citizens.
  • Fellows are required to have at least one year of respective degrees like business, law, or medical completed when they begin their fellowship year, except students admitted to the HBS-HKS joint degree program at Harvard University. Students who enroll in the HBS-HKS joint degree program must take the fellowship during the first year of their degree program while enrolled as a full time student there
  • Fellows must be in their first year at the Graduate School of Education, the Harvard Kennedy School or the School of Public Health during their year of Zuckerman fellowship
  • The applicants who plan to enroll in a joint degree program with the Harvard Law School (HLS) will apply for the Zuckerman fellowship during their first year at law school. Contact committee of general scholarships before applying for more information

How to Apply for Zuckerman Scholarship At Harvard, United States

Students who wish to apply for Zuckerman fellowship must submit Zuckerman application form online to committee of general scholarships. The form must include

  • Signed and complete application form

The applicants with a law, business and medical background should choose the degree eligibility situation which fits their degree. For Public Service Degree Program, Applicants must submit applications for admission to a degree program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Harvard Kennedy School, or the Harvard School of Public Health for consideration of fellowship.

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Statement of purpose with not more than 1200 words. The SOP should have applicants name on each page and signature at the end.
  • Two letter of recommendation which are specifically written for fellowship on university or company letterhead and are signed by the recommender.

Deadlines:

If you are intend to study at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) , send your application before February 3, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

If you wish to study at Graduate School of Education (GSE) or the T.H. Chan School of Public Health (HSPH), submit your application by January 5, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EST 

If you are applying more than one Harvard School at the same time, must submit one fellowship application by January 5, 2021
